Enzymes are gaining an increasingly important role as a tool in various wet processing pretreatment and finishing processes. Conventional wet processing treatments applied to textiles are often characterized by high concentrations of chemicals, high temperatures and pressures with consequent high consumption of energy. Enzymes in Textile processing Improves the quality of fabric finishes, reduces processing time and saves on chemical and energy costs

Our standard products for the textile industry are below. Besides these we develop solutions depending on customers unique needs and conditions.

Desizing (Prosize)

As we know cotton yarn is coated with size (mixture of starch, PVA, emulsifiers etc) to provide additional strength while weaving. This coating is rather harsh when dry and undesirable in a fabric/garment, it needs to be removed for further processing (dyeing, bleaching) or to simply make the garment wearable. Desizing is the generic process of removing this coating. Desizing was being accomplished by using high temperatures or mild acids, but most often these conventional processes result in uneven desizing.

Starch hydrolyzing enzymes called amylases are now used for this process. Amylases act on amylose and amylopectin of starch by converting them into dextrins and sugars. The process has hence been made simpler and more effective.

Bio-washing (Prosoft AL C)

An enzymatic approach to washing textiles made of cellulose and its blends. Enzymes replace conventional stones, chemicals and other mechanical aids. Enzymes are rather easy to handle and mild in action with little damaging effect on the fabric/garment.

Bio-polishing (Neuodenim P)

As the name suggests the process is aimed at polishing the fabric surface. Bio polishing gives the fabric/garment a permanent relief from pilling with added shine. It is most effective in processing knits and heavy fabrics

Scouring (Euroscour)

When applied to gray goods, scouring removes substances that have adhered to the fibres during production of the yarn or fabric, such as dirt, oils, and any sizing or lint applied to warp yarns to facilitate weaving.
